Lynne Campbell - BIO
Musical Background...
Hmmm....where to start....okay, at the beginning LOL....
- age 9, started to play organ, keyboards, piano (trained both classically (Royal Conservatory of Music to Grade 8), and in Contemporary Music and Methods, as well as theory, theory, theory (ahhh) - but it was all worth it! : )
- age 15, joined first rock band (PAUSE), worked on originals, played parties, special events, Battle of the Bands in Meadowvale, Ivor Wyn Stadium for the Italian Festival, opening for Val P. (20,000 people - it really helps you get past any stage fright, I can tell you!)
- age 19, joined first hard rock band (JETTISON), still writing originals, recorded at Kensington Sound in Toronto, came in 11th in Q107's Homegrown in 1989 out of 1100 bands - got airplay of our tunes (that was the best!) - became House Band for Burgundy's at Yonge and Bloor in Toronto, and gigged all over the place - it was GREAT!
- age 26 - Present - played all over the GTA with PLASTIC SALLY, doing originals and covers (1990's), cut my own Solo Album in 2001/2002, and played with some tribute bands (CAPTAIN KID, a Bon Jovi/Van Halen Tribute Band, and I also played in a Journey Tribute band on the side.)
- started working on moving up from backing Vox to Lead while writing the songs for my solo project (Glenn is my Vocal Coach and the most incredible singer I know!), and now here I am with DARK MATTER in 2007 - I have a GREAT feeling about this band!!!
I have played all over the GTA (Nagshead North, Generator, El Mocombo, Rio Grande, Coco Loco's, Club 360, Cluv OV's, Dufferin Gates, Burgundy's, Hot Rocks, Gasworks (can you believe it's gone!!! - I'm still coping with that LOL), Stratengers, Ranzerox, The Cameron House, Lee's Palace, The Snappin' Gator (Jam Night), The Black Swan, Indigo Bar (no, not the bookstore LOL), Bar None, The Waterfront Bar (Keswick), and I can't remember the rest right now....

The above photo is from a live show I did at Long & McQuade Music in 2007, in the middle of the store, with my buddy Glenn, and three other talented musicians, to showcase the L & M Jam Band. It was a lot of fun, except that they made me sing The Clash with the flu - haha - hope I can live that one down! Hi to my friends at L & M, and a special thanks to Joyce, who knew I needed a little break from the formal band setting to just jam out and have some fun without it having anything to do with money or record deals, etc. Thanks also to Ted, who is an awsome musician himself, and to Tyler for organizing this project. You guys ROCK!!!
Lynne
MY DAUGHTER....
The best person I know - my best friend - a great guitarist, singer, and pretty damn good on that Sax too - congrats on your new band CHRONIC PARTY - and to all your cool band-mates - you are the best daughter in the world. You have an amazing musical gift, and a gift in all of the arts.
I am blessed to have you in my life.
Rock their socks off J!!!
Love ya!
Love Mom xoxoxoxo
What I Do When I Have to Work - LOL
I actually LOVE my day-job. I studied for 10+ years for it. I am a Mental Health Professional - I'll leave it at that because sometimes people get a little weird when I talk about what I do. I help people, and that's all that really matters.
Peace and Love to All.
